Employment Contracts

Employment contracts are a legal obligation in veterinary practice. They are also an excellent way of laying out the terms and conditions of an agreement with a new employee. Employment contracts offer security and peace of mind to employers and employees at the beginning of an unpredictable journey together. It is important for employers to ensure that their employment contracts are drafted by someone with experience and knowledge of the veterinary industry. 

Since March 2019, an employee must receive a statement containing certain core terms of employment within the first 5 days of starting a job. An employee must then receive the remaining terms in writing within 2 months of starting work.
